First Post for the New Blog!

I am so excited to finally have a site to share pics, ideas, techniques, and other fun stuff for our furniture fix-ups!  I get a high off finding good solid pieces of furniture for sooooo inexpensive, it's really a "cheap" thrill!  Garage sales, flea markets, back alleys, resale shops, antique malls, you name it we've been there and found great furniture.

I found this piece that I most currently did at an antique mall in San Angelo, Tx.  It was a poor looking piece sitting in the corner of the store just and appeared to have been just collecting dust for quite sometime.  I wish I had remembered to take a picture of the retro velvet green lining that was in the drawers, but needless to say it HAD to go! I love bright, vibrant colors so started off by painting this table red, then put a couple of coats of turquoise paint on top of that.  When it was all dried I distressed it so the red would show through, lightly brushed on some yellow paint, added some cute new knobs and voila!  This cute little side has been brought back to life!
